Unexplained Scratches

Jo: age - 10 months (April, 1988)
Injury: numerous deep scratches, right leg rear

Jo's mother, Audrey Spall, had two explanations for the scratches you see above.  First she said Jo got into her sewing kit and somehow scratched herself. 

Jo did it. 

A few days later Ms. Spall said a cat scratched Jo while she was napping at a friend's house.

A cat did it.
